Role Summary
You will join a small and highly focussed product delivery team and take a key role in delivering the company's mobile clients and Server Side products. Working closely with the software engineering, support and training teams, you will be responsible for providing quality product documentation, designing, preparing and maintaining product manuals and specifications for both end-user and system administrators. Working to industry best practices, you will ensure that documentation achieves technical accuracy, completeness and suitability of content for its audiences.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • More than 3 years experience producing and editing technical product documentation for software systems.
  • Fluent with industry standard documentation tools, including MS Office, Visio, Framemaker.
  • Ability to solicit and consolidate technical inputs and analysis for complex technologies, and produce a logical, understandable documentation fit for the audience.

Desired skills

  • Documenting applications for Smartphones (eg. Nokia S60 (Symbian OS), BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, iPhone or Android).
  • Documenting server software products and systems, including VoIP, data networking protocols including TCP/IP and UDP/IP, security architectures.

Our client is seeking an experienced technical author to produce instruction manuals, software installation documentation, user guides and training materials for an international audience.

You will be working with technical and engineering staff in a networking/telecommunications research environment and delivering the documentation for a variety of media.

You should have strong academic qualifications and have an interest in and experience of :

  • networking/telecommunications/software development life cycle
  • knowledge of areas such as Internet, encryption, identity management, PKI 
  • proof-reading and editing experience and MS Office skills.
